Joining True North in 2022 as an Investment Analyst, Luke is responsible for assessing new and existing investments and working with True North’s Investment Managers to fulfill client’s investment needs. He believes that investment analysis requires integrity, intellectual acuity, and a keen understanding of people.
In his role as an Investment Analyst, he aspires to live up to this notion through his continual study of new financial strategies and markets, holding himself to the highest ethical standards, and making the most of every opportunity to connect with new people.

Luke grew up in three different countries (Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the U.S.) before moving to Dallas where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance at Southern Methodist University.
In his spare time, he participates in casual sports leagues and enjoys playing guitar and singing country/rock music.

Mike has over two decades of wealth management experience. He began his career at Evensky & Katz in Coral Gables, Florida, gaining unparalleled experience in the industry, while also establishing himself as a respected advisor, speaker, and mentor.
Mike joined True North at the end of 2008. As a Partner and Senior Wealth Manager, Mike is widely known for his humor, empathy, practical advice, and advanced wealth management expertise. While he is a native of the Pacific Northwest, his life and career have taken him around the U.S. and overseas. Having lived in Texas (a few times!) for a total of over 20 years, Mike is proud to call Dallas/Fort Worth home.
The firm’s mission is Fulfilling Lives™, and Mike supports this by working closely with clients in finding the right solution and strategy to meet their wealth management needs. Seeing a client’s reaction to knowing they are going to be okay, is the best part of Mike’s job.
Mike received his bachelor’s degree from Seattle University. He also is a graduate of Texas Tech University, where he acquired his Law Degree and Master of Science in Personal Financial Planning. Mike is a Certified Financial Planner® and former U.S. Army Officer, having served in the 82d Airborne Division and the Texas Army National Guard.
Mike currently lives in Murphy, Texas with his wife Elizabeth and their three children. Mike enjoys time with family, reading, supporting the evolution of the wealth management industry, and continually learning.

As Manager of Client Operations, Danielle provides oversight for client service requests, including, but not limited to, account administration and paperwork, transactions, and reporting. She is particularly involved with True North’s ultra-high-net worth families, with her primary goal being to ensure the firm is delivering exceptional outcomes and positive attitudes at each interaction.
Having joined the company in 2018 as a Client Service Specialist, Danielle has over six years of experience serving True North client’s, helping to solve complex issues, advocating on clients’ behalf to custodians, providing estate administration, and supporting critical business transactions. She seeks to earn client’s trust with a commitment to excellence and delivering a high level of detail at every turn.
The firm’s mission is Fulfilling Lives™, and Danielle supports this by bringing empathy and care to each client interaction, staying meticulous and attentive to her work, and being dependable to clients and co-workers.
Danielle is a graduate of Texas Tech University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Personal Financial Planning. While there, she served as an ambassador for the Personal Financial Planning Department, a member of Red-to-Black Peer Financial Coaching Organization, and a member of the Personal Financial Planning Association.
Danielle currently lives in Flower Mound, Texas with her husband Caleb and their dog Harper. When she’s not keeping busy serving True North families, you can find her spending time with loved ones, doing home projects, volunteering at Church, or traveling.

Grant serves as a Senior Portfolio Analyst at True North, specializing in trading, rebalancing, and portfolio management. In this role, he prioritizes precision in execution, shares his knowledge and expertise with colleagues, and implements the firm’s innovative strategies to help clients achieve their investment goals.
Grant joined True North in 2021 as a Client Operations Analyst, supporting the tactical and administrative needs of both clients and advisors. His attention to detail and operational expertise led to his transition to the Portfolio Management team, where he served as a Portfolio Analyst from 2023 to 2024 before being promoted to his current role in 2025.
Prior to True North, Grant worked at TD Ameritrade and Charles Schwab for three years, gaining extensive experience in financial operations, investments, and client service. During this time, he developed a deep understanding of investment management, market trends, and the broader wealth management industry, equipping him with the expertise to navigate evolving financial markets.

Previously the Guidance Manager at United Capital Financial Advisors, now part of Goldman Sachs, he brings a unique perspective to the work True North does by delivering quality and sound financial advice with a propensity for knowledge and curiosity. Having joined True North in 2019, Colin is passionate about finding and delivering innovative ways to enhance the client experience for the families he serves.
The firm’s mission is Fulfilling Lives™, and Colin supports this by understanding what is truly most important to his clients, collaborating on a plan to achieve those goals, and working every day to make that plan a reality.

He believes Wealth Management requires deep technical competency plus an ability to earnestly listen to and connect with clients. Matt aspires to live up to this notion by exhibiting honesty and integrity, loyalty, objectivity, and accountability.
Prior to joining True North in 2013, Matt developed a deep understanding of investments at JP Morgan, gaining a seasoned perspective on both public and private markets.
The firm’s mission is Fulfilling Lives™, and Matt supports this by working collaboratively with his clients to achieve their stated objectives and to steer clear of pitfalls along the way. Outside the office, he supports organizations including the North Texas Food Bank and the Dallas Arboretum.

Caleb has worked in the wealth management industry for over a decade, gaining experience in holistic wealth planning, strategic investment solutions, dynamic family governance, and family office management.
Caleb joined True North in 2019 and serves as the Senior Director of Wealth Planning. In this role, he brings significant technical planning experience and a pragmatic, advisor-rooted perspective along with extensive knowledge, experience, energy, enthusiasm, and problem-solving skills. Prior to assuming this position, Caleb was a Senior Wealth Manager, serving some of the firm’s most complex clients. He serves on the board of the DFW Financial Planning Association as Director of Education.
Prior to joining True North, he served high and ultra-high-net-worth clients at Tolleson Wealth Management and RGT Wealth Advisors. Caleb is passionate about providing meaningful outcomes for client families through complex planning and generational wealth solutions. He also has a keen interest in business strategy and the mentorship and development of other advisors.

Cole joined True North in 2023 as a Wealth Analyst in our Fort Worth office. He is responsible for operational objectives as well as portfolio analysis. This includes account administration, paperwork, transactions, reporting, trading, rebalancing, and portfolio management. In his role, he takes a calculated, attentive, and considerate approach to ensure efficient and accurate results.

Prior to his time with True North, he was an accomplished student athlete at both Auburn University, and later at Southern Methodist University (SMU) in Dallas, Texas. Cole graduated SMU with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics.
His hobbies include reading, weightlifting, martial arts, and spending time with friends and family.

Ryan joined True North in 2023 as a Client Operations Analyst. He is responsible for account openings, asset movement, and setting up the firm’s client families for success during a transition period. Ryan delivers strong attention to detail to ensure each onboarding is completed in an efficient and effective manner. He seeks to provide the best client experience possible during a time of transition.
Prior to joining True North, Ryan was with Fisher Investments as a key operations and onboarding member on their Client Services team. There, he was able to build foundational skills in client services and operations while better understanding the financial services industry. He expanded his skills after taking on a new role on the international side of the firm. From this experience, he brings an understanding of the operational skills necessary to successfully create the best client experience possible at True North, but also bringing new processes and ideas to into the operations team to further expand the success of his team.

Prior to joining True North, Caleb was with Fisher Investments and as key support member on their Client Services team. There, he was able to build foundational skills in client services and operations while better understanding the financial services industry. He expanded his skills after taking on a new team structure to directly support the Investment Counseling team. From this experience, he brings not only an understanding of the operational skills needed to successfully complete his responsibilities at True North, but also the pursuit of bringing new ideas and processes into the role to further expand the success of his team.

As the Senior Director of Wealth Management, Braden oversees and manages the Wealth Management team in the Dallas office. He has worked in the industry for over 15 years across a variety of different roles spanning financial planning, investments, and client advisory. His broad experience ranges from economic research, private investments, hedge funds, tailored portfolio solutions, cash flow management and family governance.
Prior to True North, Braden was an advisor with CH Investment Partners, a multi-family investment office founded by the Trammell Crow Family.
The firm’s mission is Fulfilling Lives™, and Braden supports this via his passion for serving individuals by building trust among his team and the firm’s clients. He believes that trust is the foundation of all effective and deep relationships.
Braden is a 2008 graduate of the Hankamer School of Business at Baylor University where he earned a B.B.A in Finance. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA®) Charterholder and a member of the CFA Society of Dallas/Fort Worth.
Braden is native to the area and currently resides in Dallas with his wife and their three boys. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family, fly fishing, doing anything outdoors, and serving his church.

As the Director of New Client Relationships at True North, Chris is responsible for developing and cultivating new client opportunities to ensure the continued growth of the firm. He also serves as the conduit between new clients and their service team, allowing the onboarding process and experience to be as seamless, positive, and efficient as possible. He believes business development requires active listening and empathy to uncover what is most important to each client. In his role, Chris seeks to develop deep relationships that are built, first and foremost, on trust.
Prior to joining True North in 2016, Chris worked at Goldman Sachs, where he served as a Private Wealth Advisor in their Investment Management Division. Prior to Goldman Sachs, Chris spent three years in the AT&T Financial Leadership Program, where he concentrated on corporate development and strategy, financial planning, and operations.

Prior to joining True North, Kellie was an Executive Director with the Private Bank at J.P. Morgan where her responsibilities included developing and implementing goals-based investment strategies, lending advice, and banking services for high-net-worth individuals and families. Earlier in her career, Kellie held positions in Treasury Management with J.P. Morgan Investment Banking and with Amegy Bank.

As Managing Director of Partnership Integration at True North, Paula leads the transaction process to a successful closing, ensuring achievement of the firm’s inorganic growth targets. She also manages the welcoming, onboarding, and assimilation of new advisory firms and their clients into the True North family. With a focus on client success and target financial performance, Paula ensures that the firm’s core platform processes are updated with the latest best practices and effectively adopted and executed across the fast-growing organization.
Since joining the firm in 2005, Paula has worn many hats, including leadership of the Wealth Management team, the Wealth Planning team, the Client Operations team, Sales and Marketing, and Human Resources. In every role, her primary goal has been to consistently deliver an exceptional client experience and to attract and retain top talent in the workplace.
Before joining True North, Paula served as Director for a Dallas-based restaurant group where she played an integral role in the company’s national expansion and eventual acquisition.

Prior to joining True North in 2019, Adam previously worked at Merrill Lynch as a Financial Advisor. In his role there, he was responsible for working directly with clients to develop and implement their financial plans. Prior to Merrill Lynch, Adam worked as an auditor at the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers focusing on mutual fund and alternative asset managers.

Prior to joining True North, Colton worked for Charles Schwab for three years maintaining and supporting high net-worth firm relationships.

Mark Gehlbach is President and Co-founder of True North Advisors. Responsible for the leadership of True North’s Managing Directors, Mark also provides strategic and cultural direction for the firm’s future and advises many of the firm’s largest families and institutions. Mark oversees the Investment and Wealth Planning divisions and is a voting member of True North’s Investment Committee. Mark’s 25+ years of experience guiding high net worth families in the stewardship of their resources serves as the foundation of the True North client experience.
Mark began his career at the Salomon Smith Barney Consulting Group. There, he was responsible for providing both investment and wealth management services to private investors, and consulting and trading services to institutional investors. Well-regarded in the investment industry, Mark was one of the first thirteen wealth advisors in the nation to hold the designation of Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA), awarded at University of Chicago Booth School of Business. An active member in the local and national wealth management industry, Mark is often quoted and sought after as a source by professional publications such as Private Asset Management and Bloomberg Wealth Manager.
Integral in crafting the firm’s core purpose: Fulfilling Lives™, Mark purposefully encourages all colleagues to think about their daily efforts with client relationships, vendors relationships and their co-workers to ensure that every interaction is intentionally working towards this goal.
Fulfilling Lives™ includes giving back to the community which is demonstrated through Mark’s involvement in many boards and organizations throughout North Texas. His committee and board leadership includes the Salesmanship Club of Dallas, the Parkland Health and Hospital System, and the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Foundation. In 2022, Mark was selected by DCEO as a finalist for the Corporate Leadership Excellence Award for his service supporting a North Texas-based non-profit that works with refugees.

Tino is a Dallas native and graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington majoring in Public Relations. He’s an avid hiker, music lover, and foodie. When not in the office, you’ll most likely catch him hiking one of Dallas’s scenic trails, dancing at a live concert, or dining al fresco.

As a Senior Director of Strategic Relationships and Partner at True North, Chuck provides strategic leadership and directs client strategy. Prior to joining True North, Chuck was the Co-founder and Chairman of Clear Rock Advisors.
Before founding Clear Rock, Chuck served as Director of Private Client Services for Matterhorn Capital. Prior, he served as Director of Fixed Income at South Texas Money Management, and as Vice Chairman of the Board, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Investment Officer of Maxim Bank prior to the bank’s acquisition by Amegy Bank.
Chuck earned an MBA from the University of Houston-Clear Lake and a BBA in finance from Texas State University. He is a 2013 recipient of the University of Houston – Clear Lake Distinguished Alumni Award.

Anna serves as a Senior Associate Wealth Manager, where she is primarily responsible for helping manage client relationships. Anna helps to oversee and implement clients’ investment objectives, as well as their financial planning needs in the realms of estate, risk management, retirement planning, tax strategy, and liquidity management. Anna works closely with the Portfolio Analysts and Client Operations teams to carry out client requests in an efficient & timely manner, while keeping the overall financial goals & objectives of the client at the center of every request.
Anna joined True North Advisors in 2021 working as Portfolio Analyst. During her time in that role, she was responsible for trading client portfolios, strategic rebalancing, and managing portfolio cash needs. In this role, Anna gained a deep understanding of True North’s investment philosophy and portfolio approach.
Anna earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance at the University of Kansas. She later attended Southern Methodist University in 2022, earning her Certified Financial Planner Certificate through an accelerated one-year program, and shortly after received her CFP® certification.
Her hobbies include spending time with family & friends, reading, trying new restaurants, and travelling.

With a background as a Relationship Manager at Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management, he excels in creating and implementing financial strategies, facilitating seamless account management, and enhancing advisor support.

As the Deputy Chief Investment Officer, Brian maintains oversight of the team’s research functions and plays an important role in shaping and implementing the firm’s investment strategy. His extensive experience with traditional and alternative asset classes combined with his collaborative approach help the Investment Team deliver thoughtful investment solutions for clients. Brian is also a voting member of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Prior to joining True North in 2014, Brian worked in the Public Equity group at Employees Retirement System of Texas and served as a portfolio manager on the MBA Investment Fund LLC while completing his MBA at the University of Texas at Austin, McCombs School of Business.
Brian began his career at GMAC Mortgage and over his six-year tenure developed a deep understanding of the residential mortgage and mortgage-backed securities markets, gained a seasoned perspective on evaluating and managing external managers, and created innovative solutions for the company.

Prior to joining the firm, Doug was Founder and CEO of The Hub, a faith-based content media and events company, for 26 years which sold to FaithLife in 2020. From vision, to execution, to building and leading a team – those were the strengths that enabled The Hub to be a thriving boutique media company for almost three decades. Prior to that, he was the Founder of Metro Bible Study in Dallas, which was a simple, yet groundbreaking gathering of young adults in North Texas that was attended weekly by 2000 people.

Prior to Riveron Consulting, Blake worked at PwC, an audit, tax, and consulting services firm in Dallas, Texas.

Before joining True North, Zachary served for six years as an Advisor for CH Investment Partners, a multi-family investment office founded by the Trammell Crow Family. Prior to that, he spent five years serving in various roles at Brownlie & Braden, LLC, a North Texas based investment advisory firm. Throughout his career he has been devoted to serving families and helping them steward their wealth.

Prior to joining True North, Aaron was a Portfolio Manager at Clear Rock Advisors, where he started at the company as an intern in the spring of 2020.
Prior to this role, he interned at BOK Financial as a Wealth Management Summer Intern, Waddell and Reed as a Broker Dealer Intern, and Twin Financial as a Marketing Coordinator Intern. He also served as an Equity Research Analyst at Texas Christian University’s Educational Investment Fund.

She also oversees client documentation, provides timely status updates, and ensures the efficient resolution of service requests. Additionally, Mary Claire assists with client onboarding, working closely with third-party vendors and our Advisory Team to fulfill client needs and enhance the overall experience.
Mary Claire joined True North in 2023 as an Office Coordinator, where she played a key role in facilitating office operations, managing administrative tasks, coordinating high-profile meetings, maintaining comprehensive calendars, and handling confidential client materials with precision. Melissa “Missy” Friedman Lucas brought her multi-decade outsourced family CIO practice to True North Advisors in April 2024, joining the firm as Managing Director, Family Wealth. In addition to her ongoing client responsibilities, Missy is a member of the Investment Team and serves as a voting member of the Investment Committee.
Missy’s work advising families includes portfolio construction, manager selection, and supporting trustees in meeting their fiduciary responsibilities. In close collaboration with her clients’ other professional advisors, Missy provides guidance on financial objectives, investment structures and policies, and reporting processes. Missy’s experience and expertise allow her to oversee the sophisticated investment mandates and complex structures necessary to optimize generational wealth.
Before founding her outsourced CIO practice, Missy held positions of increasing responsibility within Capital Group Companies, ultimately serving as Vice President of Capital Research Company, where she researched the chemical and healthcare industries and directly managed ~$500 million of investments. Prior to Capital Group, Missy was a biochemist at Merck & Co.

Dhruv Maniktala is the Chief Investment Officer at True North Advisors & Western Alternative Strategies and has over two decades of experience in the investment industry, spanning both public and private markets. Dhruv manages the initiatives of the Investment Team across traditional and alternative investments, including private equity, energy, real estate, and hedge funds. He also leads the Investment Committee at the firm.
Dhruv has served in various capacities across a broad spectrum of private and public markets. His Project finance and M&A roles in the private markets were focused on acquisitions of power and water infrastructure assets in Europe, Caribbean, South America and the US, including the acquisition and nationalization of the water and power assets of Jamaica. Some of his other experiences include evaluating power projects across Hungary, Germany and UK, LNG terminal and natural gas pipeline projects in South America, and water desalinization projects in the Caribbean.
During his time at Russell Investment Group, a global institutional consultant that advices on about $3 trillion in assets* for firms like AT&T, Boeing, Nestle, Toyota and Shell, Dhruv worked closely with the Chief Strategist to develop tactical asset allocation models and was the member of the research team that ranked in the top three in terms of performance amongst all Russell teams worldwide. In the public markets, Dhruv served as a VP and Equity Analyst at Wachovia focusing on domestic and international equities, and was chosen to share his business and investment insights with the CEO of the firm. He also managed asset allocation, portfolio construction, and manager selection across private and public markets at a multi-family office where he was a Principal of the firm.
Dhruv received his Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering from the globally renowned Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) that counts the CEOs of Google and Twitter, among others, as its graduates, and attended the University of Georgia on a full scholarship where he earned his MBA and majored in Corporate Finance, Investments and Quantitative Analysis. Jay McAuley joined True North Advisors in 2021 as Senior Director of Strategic Relationships. His deep roots in the community align with the firm’s core values, culture, and strategic growth efforts. The firm’s mission is Fulfilling Lives™, and Jay supports this by providing superior service, care and attention in every interaction with our clients and community partners.
In 1992, Jay went to work at St. Mark’s School as the Director of Alumni Relations and Head Football Coach. Over the course of the next 12 years in the development office, Jay worked as Director of Major Gifts and ultimately Director of Development. The football team won two Southwestern Preparatory Conference titles and earned four runners-up trophies during this time.
In 2004, Jay moved to Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation to direct the Legacy of Care Capital Campaign, the most significant portion of which assisted in supporting the construction of the Hamon Tower. In 2008, he was named President of the Foundation and in 2012 when Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation was united with the Harris Methodist Health Foundation, Jay was named President of Texas Health Resources Foundation, a position he held until February 2021.
A lifelong Dallasite, Jay McAuley graduated from St. Mark’s School of Texas in 1981 and attended Texas Tech University, where he earned four varsity letters in football and graduated in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering. After graduation, Jay spent time in the oil and gas business as a field engineer for various companies while earning a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University in 1990.
He served as the Chairman of the Cotton Bowl Athletic Association from 2016-2018 and is currently the second Vice President of the Salesmanship Club of Dallas where he has been a member since 2009. Additionally, he serves on the Board of the CC Young Foundation, the Executive Board of the Circle 10 Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and is a member of the Men’s Advisory Group of New Friends, New Life.
In his spare time, Jay volunteers for organizations he is passionate about in the Dallas area. Jay and his wife Jennifer have a grown son, Jake and a bulldog, Irene.

As a Director of Investments – Private Markets at True North, Jamil’s primary responsibility, is helping build, execute, and manage the firm’s Western Alternative Strategies (WAS) investment offerings. Joining the firm in 2019, he brings unique perspective and insight into private investments and how they can align with and fulfill the lives of True North’s clients. In addition to his investment responsibilities, he is a voting member of the Investment Committee.

More recently, as an Associate Wealth Manager, he assisted client relationships alongside the Directors and Senior Wealth Manager in Fort Worth.

Joining True North as a Portfolio Analyst in 2015, Andrew spent the past decade establishing core processes and procedures for the firm as it relates to rebalancing, trading and portfolio management. He believes that wealth and investment management require not only deep technical expertise but empathy and humility. Andrew aspires to live up to this notion by leading with a deep focus on accuracy, efficiency and integrity.

As Director of Investments at True North, Mac is responsible for portfolio management and manager due diligence across the Western Alternative Strategies (WAS) investment offerings, including private equity and private credit. He continuously strives to increase his investment acumen while strongly maintaining a fiduciary role for clients. The alternatives asset class has always intrigued Mac, leading to his motivation for growth within that space. Mac is also a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Prior to joining True North, Mac served as Director of Private Markets at American Beacon Advisors (ABA) for 13 years, successfully managing the private equity and private income portfolios for the Fixed Benefit Pension Plan of American Airlines, Inc., as well as sitting on ABA’s Private Markets Investment Committee. Before ABA, Mac received his introduction to private markets and hedge funds during his productive 6-year employment as a member of the investment staff at Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System.
Mac earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and a minor in Economics from The University of Alabama, and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration with a Finance Concentration from Louisiana State University. Mac is a Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst (CAIA®).
Outside of the office, you’ll likely find Mac enjoying a patio on a Saturday afternoon with college football on TV, particularly cheering for his alma mater, Alabama. His favorite places in the world include Lake Tahoe in the summer and the Caribbean during the winter. Nick joined True North in 2023 as a Client Operations Analyst. He is responsible for account administration, transactions, and reporting. Nick supports the wealth management team by maintaining strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and timeliness in operational activities.
Prior to joining True North, Nick worked in JP Morgan’s wealth management division where he developed operational skills and gained a keen understanding of the financial services industry. In this role, he provided clients with guidance on financial products, account services, and estate processing.

Chris Pate is Chief Operating Officer of True North Advisors. In addition to his role on the Investment Team, his duties include oversight of True North’s Wealth Management and Wealth Planning Teams. He is intimately involved with sourcing and evaluating private investment opportunities for the firm, adding a unique perspective to building bespoke private investment portfolios designed specifically for advisory clients. Chris also serves on True North’s Management Committee and Leadership Team and is a voting member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee. Chris initially joined True North in 2019 as Managing Director in our Fort Worth office.
Prior to True North, he spent eight years managing the investment activities for Western Commerce Group in Fort Worth. His responsibilities included oversight of both public markets and private investments within Western’s investment advisory operations, including equities, fixed income, alternatives, and hard assets. Before joining Western, Chris spent 11 years at Q Investments, a $2.5 billion (as of 2011) Fort Worth multi-strategy hedge fund founded in 1994.

Matt Peden joined True North Advisors in August 2023 as Senior Director of Investments. He has over three decades of experience in the investment industry, including senior leadership positions in portfolio management and research covering both public and private markets. Matt’s current responsibilities at the firm are primarily targeted towards public and traditional markets. Matt serves as a voting member of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Matt joined True North Advisors from American Beacon Advisors where he served as Director of Investments. In his role, Matt was involved in the evaluation, oversight, and management of investment programs for American Beacon’s largest funds and contributed to the development of new products and investment strategies for clients. He also served as a voting member of the Private Markets Investment Committee, responsible for the approval of investments for a large corporate defined benefit fund client.
During his long tenure at GuideStone Financial Resources, Matt elevated through the firm to the position of Chief Investment Officer, serving in that position for six years. He was responsible for developing and directing all aspects of the investment management program with approximately $18 billion* in assets under management. Under his leadership, GuideStone Funds won the national, prestigious mutual fund award, the Lipper Award for Best Overall Small Fund Family (U.S.). GuideStone Funds is the only socially screened mutual fund family to win the award in its history. Matt has also held an investment banking position at Southwest Securities, Inc. (now Hilltop Securities, Inc.) and an analyst position at First Interstate Bank (now Wells Fargo & Co.). He has also been quoted in the media on multiple occasions, including the Wall Street Journal.

With over 15 years of experience in wealth management, Vanessa is passionate about leading her team to fulfill the firm’s core values, develop deep skillsets, and expand their industry knowledge to enhance the overall client experience.
Prior to taking on her role at True North Advisors in 2018, Vanessa was the Manager of Wealth Operations at Tolleson Wealth Management where she led and contributed to the strategic planning of operational and client service initiatives.

Prior to True North, Armando worked as an Operations Analyst at Goldman Sachs. In this role, he provided financial planning, investment management and operational support for clients of Goldman Sachs Personal Financial Management.
He has also held similar roles at other reputable financial services firms such as TD Ameritrade and Avantax Wealth Management (Formerly HD Vest). These positions have allowed him to grow in his field and become the financial professional he is today.

Susan Rowinski joined True North Advisors as a Senior Wealth Manager in June of 2024 and brings over two decades of financial advisory services experience to the firm. Susan began her career at Oppenheimer Capital where she had a variety of positions, but her last role was overseeing the Institutional Consulting Department where she worked closely with professionals on new business opportunities.
Susan joined Rockefeller & Co. in 2000 (now Rockefeller Capital Management) where she worked with multi-generational families and their affiliated foundations, endowments, and other non-profits organizations. Susan has worked closely with individuals and families on comprehensive understanding of family governance, strategic oversight, and the varied, highly detailed day-to-day bespoke work that is essential to serving clients.
Susan graduated with a B.S. in Finance from Villanova University.

As Partner and Senior Wealth Manager, Tara brings extensive experience in financial planning and portfolio management for high and ultra-high net worth individuals. Prior to joining True North in 2014, Tara was Senior Vice President for Carter Financial Management where she was responsible for financial planning services as well as oversight of the firm’s daily office operations. Earlier in her career, she held senior level financial and wealth planning roles at The Capital Chart Room, LTD, Wells Fargo Private Client Group and Merrill Lynch.
Tara has been listed in D Magazine: Best Financial Planners (2002-2023). She is past president of the DFW Chapter of the Financial Planning Association and FPA NexGen, and has served on the National FPA Chapter Leadership Advisory Council and National FPA Experience Task Force. She also served on the board of trustees for the Foundation for Financial Planning for seven years.

Will joined True North Advisors in 2013 and serves as Managing Director of Finance, Chief Compliance Officer, and Partner. He is responsible for managing the financial functions of the firm including budgeting, cost accounting, forecasting, ratio analysis, and other fiscal matters, which are used to formulate many of the company’s business decisions. He works directly with the leadership team to help keep the firm’s budget and financial projections on track each year.
Will brings strong accounting and auditing skills to True North. Prior to joining the firm, he was Senior Accountant at JMI Realty, a private real estate investment and development company in Austin, Texas. While there, he assisted with periodic financial reporting, cash forecasting, and cost analysis. Prior to JMI, Will was a senior auditor at Mohle Adams, a public accounting firm in Houston, Texas.
Will is a graduate of St. Edward’s University where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance. In his spare time, Will enjoys traveling and any activity he can experience outdoors, from camping to rock climbing to cycling and scuba diving.

She is an accomplished HR Executive renowned for her innovative approach to human resources management and her dedication to driving organizational success. Her previous roles at Clarus, Richemont, and Manheim further highlight her proficiency in talent management, employee engagement, and HR analytics.
In her prior role as Vice President of Human Resources at CarOffer, Bernadeta played a pivotal role in steering the company’s HR functions, including talent acquisition, performance management, and benefits administration. Her leadership was instrumental in fostering a collaborative work environment and implementing effective performance management processes, which contributed to CarOffer’s recognition as a Top Place to Work in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
Prior to CarOffer, Bernadeta served as Human Resources Director at IKS Health, where she spearheaded the development of a comprehensive HR strategy aligned with the company’s growth initiatives and led significant change management efforts. Her expertise also includes extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, as demonstrated in her successful HR integration leadership.

As Director of Investor Relations at True North, Danielle partners with the investment team to create investment presentations, commentaries, and fact sheets. She assists with investment communications and financial reporting. Danielle is tasked with cultivating and maintaining relationships with investors with the goal of expanding the reach of the firm’s alternative investment platform.
Danielle has a background in private equity, fundraising, and commercial real estate. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Investor Relations at Rex Tech Ventures. As VP, she advised the Founder & CEO on overall strategy and positioning and identified, cultivated, and solicited high-net-worth individuals and family offices to invest in the venture studio. Before Rex Tech Ventures, she worked in investor relations for Kairos Ventures, an early-stage venture capital fund. While there, she managed relationships of 150 limited partners across four funds and assisted in fundraising efforts to grow Kairos’s AUM from $45M to $250M+ in three years.
Before Kairos, Danielle worked in the Development Office at the California Institute of Technology (“Caltech”), managing fundraising efforts from major donors in Caltech’s $2B Breakthrough fundraising campaign. Previously, Danielle served as a Corporate Services Manager at Cushman & Wakefield, a leading global real estate services firm, where she managed Health Net, Inc.’s national real estate portfolio to help it contain costs and standardize its deal term sheets, lease agreements, subleases, and purchase and sale agreements.

As the Senior Director of Strategic Relationships, Mark is responsible for new business development that will deliver organic growth for the firm. Mark also leads the firm’s pre-transaction planning initiative for entrepreneurs and executives.

To accomplish this goal, Mark and his team acts as guides for business owners so that they can determine if they are truly ready to sell from all perspectives: personal, financial, and business.
Before joining True North in 2024, Mark served as market leader for BMO Wealth Management in Texas. Prior to that, Mark served as director of business development for Tolleson Wealth Management.

Holly’s leadership in marketing at True North is characterized by a commitment to understanding and connecting with people, maintaining brand integrity through governance, and driving results through the use of key performance indicators. Her strategic direction ensures that True North’s marketing efforts are targeted, impactful, and aligned with the company’s objectives, purpose, and mission.
Prior to True North, Holly was the Regional Marketing Manager at Greystar, a global leader in investment management, development, and management of rental housing properties in over 200 markets. Over the course of her 10-year tenure, Holly played a pivotal role in spearheading marketing efforts for a vast portfolio comprising of 23,000 Class A luxury apartment units based out of the Greystar Chicago office. Her role encompassed not only the marketing of existing properties but also involved strategic planning for acquisitions and value-add investments.

Scott Wood, along with Co-founder Mark Gehlbach, launched True North Advisors in 2000, with the single goal of eliminating conflicts of interest in the client-advisor relationship. As True North’s CEO, Scott is the architect of the firm’s vision, strategy and culture and is a voting member of the firm’s Investment Policy Committee. He also shares responsibility for shaping the growth, profitability, and marketing of the firm.
Scott holds the distinction of being a Certified Investment Management Analyst® (CIMA), awarded by the Wharton School of Business, and a Certified Private Wealth Advisor® (CPWA).
The firm’s mission is Fulfilling Lives™, and Scott supports this by helping shape a team of advisors to understand what is most important to each client and what they’re trying to accomplish, to build a holistic plan to meet those goals, and then to deliver on that promise.

When not working, he most enjoys time with his wife and three daughters, particularly spending time outdoors, snow skiing, cycling, running, golfing, surfing, boating or just about any other recreational pursuit.

Joining True North in 2023 as an Associate Wealth Planner, Sofia brings with her a strong understanding of wealth planning and the various complexities it entails for clients and their families. She is deeply committed to delivering purposeful and prudent solutions to fulfill the unique needs of our clients.
Sofia began her career at Vanguard as a Financial Planning Associate. During that time, she partnered with tenured advisors to implement and execute planning deliverables, portfolio implementation, and trading functions. Sofia acted in a client facing capacity and developed a strong desire to serve families and their various financial complexities.
The firm’s mission is Fulfilling Lives™, and Sofia supports this by striving to stay on top of financial planning trends, and to continuously expand her knowledge to be the greatest benefit to the client to help them achieve their long-term goals.
Sofia graduated from The University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, emphasis in Finance & Banking. In addition, she graduated with an Investment Certificate from the Trulaske School of Business. Outside of work, Sofia enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling as much as possible, and trying new restaurants.
